CONCORD – NH1 News announced Wednesday that it will team up with the New Hampshire Democratic Party to broadcast the state party’s annual McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Celebration.

NH1 News will have exclusive New Hampshire live television coverage of the event on WBIN-TV. The massive gathering will take place on Friday, February 5, just four days before the Granite State’s first-in-the-nation primary. All three Democratic presidential candidates, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, will speak at the event, which will be held at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester.

NH1 News will kick off its live coverage at 5pm.

NHDP Chairman Ray Buckley told NH1 News, “The event is going to make history with the sheer size of it, by having over 7,000 at the Verizon Wireless Center, with all three of the candidates. It is going to be certainly the focus of the nation that evening.”

“This is going to be the largest political fundraiser of either party or of any candidate in New Hampshire’s history. It is truly going to blow the socks off from the state,” Buckley added.

NH1 News Network Senior Vice President Robb Atkinson said “we’re thrilled to be teaming up with the New Hampshire Democratic Party to televise this crucial political gathering.”

Buckley said the event has a rich history, dating back to the first dinner, which was held in 1959 by supporters of then Sen. John F. Kennedy of Massachusetts.

“Eight years ago, in 2008, we had 3,600 people at the Hampshire Dome in Milford. This time we want to double that by having it in Manchester. And everybody who’s ever been elected president, vice president, or who’s actually won the New Hampshire primary, has attended this dinner,” he explained.

And it’s not just politics that will be served up.

“There’s a great tradition of celebrities showing up at this event,” Buckley added.
