Deflategate, Framegate or whatever you want to call it, has more hash tags on social media than my aunt Mary had skin tags.
Every day we're posting new comments disputing the findings of the Wells report. We're Tweeting, Facebooking and blogging. We're having Twitter battles with folks we don't know saying things we really shouldn't
Some of us have allowed this story to almost completely take over our lives. We've resorted to watching or listening to every sports talk show possible for no other reason than to get angry. We've even gone to the point where we told our 6-year-old grandson that he needs to wait a minute because Papa's trying to call the two idiots on TV to tell them how wrong they are.
Yes I'm one of the chief offenders, but it all changed Friday afternoon.
I just got home from picking up my grandson and was ready to get filled with fury watching the latest media barrage of Deflateness when I get a notice on my phone from my NH1 News app. The jury is back with the penalty for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. I had to watch. And while the victims and their family members spoke, I realized my priorities where totally out of whack.
Here's my take. We've been going on about how unfair this entire process has been for Tom Brady and it's ridiculous that his appeal will be with Roger Goodell.
But what about Lingzi Lu, Krystal Campbell, Martin Richard and Sean Collier. They paid the ultimate penalty for doing absolutely nothing wrong, with no chance for appeal. Their families can't tell them to wait while they try to call and yell at some talk show host.
While it's OK to be passionate about Deflategate we need to remember, it's only a game and there is a whole list of things that are way more important.
That's my take, what's yours? Leave it below or email it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
