NH1 FIRST ALERT WEATHER WARNING: Latest NH snowstorm expected to get messy

Snow has officially moved into the area.

We will see those snow showers continue to increase throughout the evening as temperatures stay in the 20's.

Overnight, temperatures begin to increase changing that snow to sleet and freezing rain from south to north. Southern locations can expect to see that snow change over to sleet around midnight, about 1 a.m. for central locations, and 2 to 3 a.m. for northern locations.

This sleet and freezing rain will occur for a few hours before sunrise but should start to taper off and change to rain by the morning commute, so you can expect there to be some slippery and messy spots Tuesday morning, with northern locations being worse than southern locations.

We will have occasional sleet, freezing rain, and rain showers throughout the day Tuesday, but expect heavy rain for the evening commute. A line of heavy rain and maybe thunderstorms will move through the area between 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday evening, bringing limited visibility, gusty winds especially along the coast, and some localized and coastal flooding.

Stay tuned to NH1 for the latest on this slippery, messy storm.
