NH1 First Alert Weather: Snow is making a late comeback in NH - no, really it is

NH1 Chief Meteorologist -

Your eyes are not deceiving you. Yes, we are talking about snow for Tuesday! Colder air is moving back into the region tonight. A wave of low pressure will track along a stalled front south of New England Tuesday. Precipitation will spread into New Hampshire with temperatures barely cold enough to support snow, in fact some areas in southern New Hampshire will be more rain than snow.

The mix of rain and snow will spread into New Hampshire during the predawn hours of Tuesday, with snow falling first where it is colder in the mountains. As the precipitation begins to fall, the air will cool so rain will begin to change over to a sleety mix across Central NH from the Lakes to Concord by dawn. Still a rainy in Southern NH. The Sleety mix will eventually change over to snow by mid morning. The wintry mix will begin to tape off during the afternoon as the low pulls away.

The Wintry mix will be falling during the daylight hours, so roads should remain mostly wet. An accumulation of snow on grassy surfaces of 1-3" of snow is expected across most of the Granite State. A few spots may get up to 4" north of the Lakes.
