NH1 FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Snow, ice close schools, still causing NH commuters headaches
The Associated Press
CONCORD (AP) - A combination of snow and ice are causing a tough commute for drivers across the Granite State on the first day back at work after the holiday weekend, and schools are closed or delaying openings.
A winter weather advisory was in effect through midday Tuesday. Snow that fell overnight was expected to turn to sleet and freezing rain.
By Tuesday morning, some parts of the region reported up to 4 inches of snow.
But gone were the subzero temperatures and dangerous wind chills.
Temperatures were in the 20s Tuesday morning and were expected to rise to near 50 in some areas, turning the wintry mix into rain.
