NH1 First Alert Weather: NH is officially in its 1st heat wave of the year
It's official! The first Heat Wave of the year has arrived! We had to string together 3 consecutive days at 90 degrees or above. So far this summer he have not any real prolonged impressive heat or humidity. It has been fairly easy for summer standards. The latest heat spell has been the real deal! It all began Friday reaching 97 then 95 on Saturday. The 89 on Sunday put our "official" heat wave on hold because a single degree Fahrenheit! But today we finally reached the lwr 90's for the third consecutive day putting to rest all this unnecessary stipulation....it's been HOT!
It looks like Thursday will be hot and Humid with highs nearing 93-95 degrees with the risk of scattered afternoon thunderstorms. Friday will bring the end to the heat with a much cooler day with clouds, showers, and highs in the 70's near 80. We will likely see more hot 90's return for the early part of August too!
The good thing about this heat is it helps the water temperatures warm up. The Lakes are seeing water temperatures near 75-78. The Ocean has seen water temperatures warm into the Lwr 70's at the beach which is about as good as it gets around here for swimming! Look for temps in the 80's this weekend.
