NH1 First Alert Weather: Fall feel for the first weekend of autumn
It's the first weekend of fall, and it'll be appropriately cool across the Granite State.
Today will be the first true taste of autumn we've had so far this month. High temperatures this afternoon will range from the upper 50s in northern New Hampshire to low and middle 60s in southern areas. Expect varying amounts of sunshine and clouds; at times, it'll be mostly sunny and at other times it may become mostly cloudy.
If you're spending your weekend in the mountains, be aware that it will be much cooler at higher elevations, even though it'll feel cool with temperatures in the 50s at the bases.
Tonight will be clear and cool with lows in many areas in the upper 30s. Southeastern areas will have lows in the lower 40s. Some patchy frost is possible, especially in western and northern New Hampshire.
Sunday will be an even cooler day with highs in central and northern areas only in the 50s. Southern New Hampshire will have highs generally between 60 and 65 degrees, under a mostly sunny sky. Expect a brisk northwesterly wind, over 20 mph at times during the afternoon.
Monday morning will be quite chilly at the bus stop with early morning temperatures in the 30s for many. A more widespread frost is possible, extending into parts of southern New Hampshire, Monday morning.
The next chance of rain will likely come on Tuesday. However, the forecast for the middle of next week is quite uncertain. The exact timing of disturbances is very much in question. Currently, it appears cooler and drier weather will return for the second half of the week, but be sure to check back for updates.
