NH1 First Alert Weather: Enjoy sun in morning, rain is coming to NH in afternoon
We are going to squeeze out just a half of a beautiful day on Monday, but then we will see rain move into the area as well as temperatures briefly falling back to seasonal levels before we have the warm air return by the end of the week.
Expect Monday to begin with sunny skies as inland temperatures make a run for 70 degrees, while the coast stays below 60 once again due to the sea breeze that will develop during the day. By afternoon, the clouds will roll in from north to south, which will allow southern locations to get slightly warmer during the day than northern zones. Some light showers could develop for the evening commute but the bulk of the rain is along a passing cold front and won't begin until after 9pm for locations to the north and west, by 11pm for the south and east.
Rain continues overnight into Tuesday morning and eventually tapers off by the afternoon. Once the rain moves out, the clouds will slowly disappear too, but temperatures will only make it into the mid to upper 50's despite the afternoon sunny skies. Behind this front, winds are expected to pick up slightly for Tuesday afternoon and into Wednesday. Expect overnight lows near 30.
Wednesday will be a sunny day with temperatures again in the mid to upper 50's, then the warm air moves back in for Thursday and Friday, where we will see a return to the mid 60's. Clouds roll in Thursday night ahead of rain moving in on Friday. At this time it looks like the rain will continue through the day into the overnight hours, and maybe into early Saturday morning as well, but it's still a little early to say for sure.
So far this weekend is looking like we won't see temperatures in the 70's again, but instead slightly cooler than normal for this time of year. Stay tuned to NH1 for the latest on the developing weekend forecast!
