NH1 First Alert Weather: Cold front ends heat, brings pleasant weekend
It's going to be another warm, muggy morning, but changes are ahead.
A cold front will pass through the state from north to south during the midday and first part of the afternoon Friday. There can be a pop-up shower or thunderstorm ahead of the front, but for the most part this will be a dry frontal passage. Highs on Friday will reach the 80s before the front moves through, especially in southern New Hampshire.
The wind will pick up out of the northwest Friday afternoon and evening, and it will start to cool down, especially farther north and west.
The weekend looks very nice with sun and dry air. A lighter wind will allow a seabreeze to develop both days. Temperatures at the coast will be no higher than the 60s, but inland towns will reach 70 on Saturday and the mid 70s on Sunday.
The next system is timed for Monday with showers and potentially a thunderstorm.
Seasonable weather follows for the middle of next week, before another system approaches later Wednesday or Thursday. It may turn unsettled with showers for the end of the week if this system is slow to move.
