NH1 First Alert Forecast: Warming toward election day...
High pressure building toward New England today will give us a good deal of sunshine, but we'll still be on the cool side of things with highs mostly in the upper 40s and low 50s. With a clear sky and calm winds tonight it will be another chilly night, but winds will start to swing around from the southwest toward morning.
Election day Tuesday starts off chilly in the 30s, but again plenty of sunshine will prevail and temperatures will climb to the upper 50s and low 60s region-wide as the High pressure area moves to the south . Unfortunately, this warm up will only be a 1 day event as a cold front sweeps through early Wednesday morning bringing back a lot of clouds, a threat of a shower and cooler readings.
The long range heading into the weekend features even colder air and a potential storm evolving over the northeast so rain showers will be threatening Friday and come Saturday it will be cold enough for many areas to be seeing either a rain/snow mix or all snow showers. We'll be fine tuning that part of the forecast as we get closer to the weekend.
Have a great week!
