NH woman gets prison time after using Backpage ad to lure victim to robbery

DOVER — A woman involved in a backpage.com scheme designed to lure men for sex and then steal their money pleaded guilty Wednesday.

Police said Felicia Smart and Edwin Dorr were working together to rob men at a Somersworth apartment before they were arrested in January of 2016. As part of the ruse, Smart got the money from the men in advance, then the couple pretended she was caught cheating.

Dorr and two other men beat one of their victims after he demanded his money back, and that is how the couple was caught.

Smart pleaded guilty to robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, witness tampering and falsifying physical evidence charges

Smart will serve two-and-a-half to six years at the women's prison and can get one year off if she participates in drug court as part of her plea deal.

Dorr was convicted in August after a jury trial.
