NH woman accused of embezzling from Vermont Veteran's Affairs

The Associated Press

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — A New Hampshire woman has been charged with embezzling from the Veteran's Affairs canteen store where she worked in White River Junction.

Kay Wright of West Lebanon, N.H., pleaded not guilty Tuesday to embezzling approximately $1,300 in the summer of 2013.

The attorney general's office says Wright took the money from the safe, petty cash, cash registers and a bill changer and used it for her personal expenses. She's also accused of falsifying petty cash records to show money had been used to buy office supplies when it was spent on another unauthorized purpose.
