LACONIA — Inspired by an Manchester group, volunteers have spent the last year knitting scarves for those in need.
The group was inspired by the Longmeadow Congregational Church who knitted hats, scarves and mitten then left them in Manchester's Veteran's Park.
The Congregational Church of Laconia was able to leave 130 items in the Rotary Park next to the Belknap Mill.
The items are intended for those who need the items to stay warm this winter.
The group, titled Stitches of Love, meets weekly and says they are always looking for projects to help the community.
