NH turkey hunt spring harvest increases to more than 4,000

The Associated Press

CONCORD — The N.H. Fish and Game Department says hunters took 4,005 turkeys during the May 2015 season, an increase over last year's harvest.

Ted Walski, the department's turkey project biologist, says it was a 2.4 percent increase over last year's total take of 3,911 turkeys.

The youth hunt weekend of April 25-26 saw 446 turkeys taken.

Of the 18 wildlife management units in the state, those in southeastern New Hampshire continue to have the highest harvests.
