NH tractor trailer involved in Maine crash
GRAY, Maine - Maine State Police said a tractor trailer crash caused minor traffic backups Tuesday afternoon after it went off the Maine Turnpike in Gray.
The wreck was removed and evening commuter traffic will not be impacted.
The driver lost control of the rig at mile 59 in the northbound lane at about 12:30 p.m.
The truck ended up alongside the road between guard rails and a rock ledge, but remained upright.
The driver, Timothy Lukas, 58, of Northwood, NH had minor injuries and was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland.
The truck, which was hauling paper products, is owned by S.J Transport of Lee, NH.
Northbound traffic at the crash site was reduced to one lane for most of the afternoon.
Traffic returned to normal.
It is unclear why the driver lost control.
