NH to get $250,000 from $39 million multi-state settlement

CONCORD - The state of N.H. gets an early Christmas gift, with news Friday that it can expect $250,000 from a lawsuit that just settled for $39 million.

According to the state Attorney General, the sum is New Hampshire's share of an agreement involving multiple states and the federal government who sued the company Qualitest over multi-vitamin tablets that it advertised as containing the American Dental Association's recommended amount of fluoride. In fact, the tablets contained less than half of that amount, the attorney general's office said in a news release.

The settlement negotiations were conducted by the National Association of Medicaid Fraud Control Units on behalf of the states.
