NH teen cited after police say she crashed car into 80-year-old driver

ROCHESTER — Two cars collided at the intersection of South Main St. and Franklin St. on Wednesday afternoon.

At 2:51 p.m. Wednesday afternoon Rochester Police and Frisbie EMS responded to an accident when a turning car had hit a car in oncoming traffic.

Police say that Destiny Duncan, age 18, of Rochester, was driving north on South Main St. when she made a left turn toward Care Pharmacy. When Duncan entered oncoming traffic she collided with Verne Scadding, age 80, of Alfred, ME.

Scadding and a passenger from Duncan's car were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Duncan was cited for failing to yield.

The accident is still under investigation and Rochester Police are asking that anyone who may have seen the accident to contact Officer Lambert at (603) 330-7128.
