NH Statehouse break-in suspect detained in Florida

The Associated Press

CONCORD (AP) — A man arrested in Florida is facing charges in New Hampshire this week in connection with a break-in at the Statehouse that took place on July 16.

State police said 25-year-old Michael Polito was arrested in St. Cloud, Florida, last week.

Gov. Maggie Hassan, Senate President Chuck Morse and Speaker Shawn Jasper issued a statement saying the Statehouse holds "numerous treasures that tell the story of our history as a state and as a people."

They said no items were taken, but some damage was done during the burglary — none of it irreversible, however.
