NH state trooper struck, injured during traffic stop in Merrimack

MERRIMACK - A state trooper was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a car early this morning and police are looking for the public's help in finding the car that hit him.

Police said the unidentified trooper was conducting a traffic stop at 2:30 a.m. in the area of Exit 10 on the Everett Turnpike when he was struck by a car travelling southbound. The car also hit the driver's side door of the trooper's cruiser.

The vehicle is believed to be a light-colored 2002-2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer with damage to the passenger side mirror and front passenger window.
