NH State Police looking for boat that hit tube carrying 2 teens, sending 1 to hospital

ALTON — Officials are looking for a boat that struck a tube carrying two teenagers on Tuesday, sending one of the teens to the hospital.

New Hampshire State Police said around 6:35 p.m. they received a call of a boating accident on Lake Winnipesaukee.

They said a boat towing the tube was making a turn when another vessel, an approximately 21-foot-long white boat with two males on board, made contact with the tube, ejecting the two teenagers who were riding on it. One of the teens had to be transported to Huggins Hospital.

Police said the striking vessel reportedly came from the direction of Minge Cove in Alton prior to the collision and proceeded north toward Rattlesnake Island after the incident.

The boat was described as white with blue or gray lettering, and anyone with information regarding the boat is asked to contact Marine Patrol at 603-293-2037.
