NH Sen. Shaheen's holiday advice: Don't mix politics and turkey

The Associated Press

CONCORD (AP) — U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen has some advice for Granite Staters this Thanksgiving: Don't talk politics.

The Democrat says in a statement from her office that "emotions are still high" after the presidential election. She advises, "Don't give politics a seat at the table."

Shaheen goes on to say Americans have more that unites them than divides them.

Shaheen was a strong backer of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, who lost the White House to Republican Donald Trump.
