NH school counselor pleads not guilty to sexual misconduct with underage female student
EXETER — An Exeter High School guidance counselor has pleaded not guilty to aggravated sexual assault against an underage female student.
Kristie S. Torbick, 37, of Lee, surrendered herself to the Exeter Police Department where she was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated felonious sexual assault on Feb. 9.
Torbick "knowingly, in the course of therapeutic treatment" engaged in "digital" sexual penetration with the minor, according to court documents.
Torbick allegedly had the minor female child perform the sexual acts on her.
Torbick was placed on paid administrative leave Jan. 26, according to SAU 16 Superintendent Michael A. Morgan.
Based on her bail restrictions, Torbick is forbidden from being on SAU 16 property, the documents state. If Torbick needs to retrieve any personal property from the school district, she has to do so with a police officer present.
Torbick has been free on $10,000 bail and waived her arraignment, which was scheduled for March 30.
