CONCORD (AP) - Fifteen Republicans and 11 Democrats will soon start digging into insurance coverage, drug courts, law enforcement and a number of other policy areas affected by the state's drug crisis.
The joint task force created during last week's special session kicks off its work Tuesday.
The task force includes representatives and senators with expertise in health care and criminal justice and three senators from Manchester, a city at the center of the state's drug crisis.
The group will keep a rigorous schedule during the next six weeks, with a preliminary report due Dec. 21. The goal is to vet legislation so it can be passed and sent to Gov. Maggie Hassan's desk soon after the legislative session begins in January.
