NH Pumpkin Festival to be held in Laconia in October

LACONIA - Officials announced on Friday that the Pumpkin Festival will be held in Laconia on October 24, 2015.

Organizer Ruth Sterling said she hoped for miracle after Keene voted to deny a permit for the Pumpkin Festival there.

Organizers said they have a one-year commitment from Laconia.

The special events permit still needs to be approved but the mayor said that is a formality and the city council unanimously supports the festival.

Laconia hosts Motorcycle Week in June and about 320,000 people come to that, so they feel that they have resources to host another big event, like the Pumpkin Festival.
