NH pizza company reopens after destructive fire


PITTSFIELD - A central New Hampshire pizza and crust production company has rebuilt and reopened after a devastating fire destroyed the facility nearly 1 year ago.

Rustic Crust produces more than 100,000 pizzas everyday and is sold in stores around the nation.

The company - who employs more than 150 people - also makes the popular frozen American Flatbread.

More than 1,000 visitors attended an open house at the new facility Saturday to see how their products are made.

"I think they said they use 8,000 pounds of flour a day - that's a lot of flour - so it was pretty fun watching them," said Claude Valenze.

CEO Brad Sterl told NH1 News his company could've saved more than $1 million if they had built the new facility in a different location, but he said after consideration of his employees - he thought it was important to stay in Pittsfield.

"It's a community that needs business like this - it needs to bring other businesses to this area," Sterl said. "It's a great place to have a business."
