NH officials ID 62-year-old kayaker that drowned in Bow Lake
BOW — The woman that drowned after her kayak capsized in the middle of Bow Lake in Strafford has been identified.
Victoria Rosenberg, 62 of Strafford, was kayaking when extreme water conditions - including high winds - caused her to capsize.
State police dispatch received a call about the distressed kayaker in the middle of the lake.
Despite wearing a life jacket, Rosenberg was found dead about 2 hours after the original 911 call in the vicinity of Loon Island.
The weather conditions included 20-25 mph wind, with gusts up to 50 MPH, 2 ½’ swells and a water temperature of 53 degrees.
Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this drowning.
