NH mom furious after son covered in feces on slide at McDonald's PlayPlace in Manchester
MANCHESTER — A Manchester mom is speaking out on social media after she claims her son went down the slide at the McDonald's PlayPlace on Second Street in Manchester and became covered in another child's feces.
Justina Santana told NH1 News she recently moved to Manchester from Boston and brought her 5-year-old son to McDonald's on Thursday. After he came off the slide, she said she immediately brought her son to the restroom to clean him up but said there was no soap in the soap dispenser. She said employees only gave her napkins to clean her child and it took 10 minutes for another employee to bring her soap.
Santana said the staff at McDonald's was rude and laughed at her. She said as she was leaving she was confronted by an employee who told her to pick up her tray inside.
The Facebook post has been shared more than 1,700 times.
Santana took her son to the emergency room at Catholic Medical Center where he was looked over and she was told to follow up with her primary care physician within a week.
The Second Street McDonald's owner and operator Michael Gambino issued a statement in regards to the incident.
"The safety and well-being of our customers is one of our top priorities. We are investigating the situation and will take any appropriate measures to address it."
McDonald's said they do have a set of protocols in place when it comes to contamination in PlayPlaces, but it's often on a case-by-case basis.
They said they do have surveillance video from the event but will not be releasing it to the public.
