NH Marine Patrol issues warning about low water levels after boat groundings


New Hampshire State Police - Marine Patrol has issued a warning to boaters about low water levels in the wake of two recent groundings of vessels on major state lakes.

The warning attributed the low water levels to little snow melt in spring, and a lack of rain this summer.

The result is that obstacles which are usually submerged far too deep to disturb hulls are now closer to the surface, and extra attention should be paid by boaters. This includes carrying the proper safety equipment, and navigational charts when available.
