NH man who sold same John Deere tractor part to 2 people convicted of theft

BARNSTEAD — A man has been arrested for for theft by unauthorized taking after selling one tractor to two different people.

Eric Corliss, 44 of Barnstead, pleaded guilty in court to the charges against him Friday.

In April 2015, he sold a John Deere front loader to one person for $10,000 and agreed to store it in his yard. He then sold the same front loader to a different person for $8,000 in May 2015.

Corliss did not tell the original buyer about the second deal and only returned $2,250 of the original $10,000 paid.

Corliss has been sentenced to 1-3 years in state prison however the full sentence has been suspended for five years on the condition of good behavior and paying the remaining $7,750 in restitution.
