A man turned himself in in connection with a baseball bat attack that occurred last week.

Robert Russell, 30, of Merrimack has been charged with three counts of first-degree assault stemming from a beating on Friday.

Police said Russell beat a man with a baseball bat and injured a woman who tried to intervene in the attack on a back porch during the assault. He was stopped when a 15-year-old boy was able to take the bat from him.

The boy suffered injuries to his hand and wrist.

Russell is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
