SEARSBURG, Vt. (AP) — Vermont State Police say a man is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries he suffered after accidentally shooting himself in the leg while on a camping trip in Searsburg.

Anthony Shultz, 28 of Hinsdale, N.H., was shot while adjusting his belt which held a holstered Ruger .22 caliber pistol. Authorities say he accidentally squeezed the trigger.

A relative who was with Shultz called for help. Schultz is being treated at a local hospital.
