SOMERSWORTH — A man has died from injuries sustained in a three-car crash in Somersworth on Thursday.

Somersworth police said they responded to the intersection of Blackwater and Old Rochester roads at about 8:23 a.m. after receiving multiple reports of a three-car collision.

When police arrived, they learned the driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt that was involved in the wreck had sustained serious injuries.

The man, identified as Joseph Gibson, 45, of Rochester, was transported to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police said the intersection was temporarily closed for their investigation. They determined that the Cobalt was traveling west on Blackwater Road, and a witness said the collision happened in the intersection.
