MONT VERNON - A N.H. man is in critical condition at a hospital in Taiwan after he was severely burned in an explosion at a water park party Saturday.
Alex Haas, 26, has 2nd- and 3rd-degree burns covering 90 percent of his body, and his lungs are seriously damaged, his brother Ben said.
The organizers of Color Play Asia are apologizing after colored powder sprayed on the crowd inexplicably ignited, sending hundreds of people running through flames.
Haas had been teaching English in Taiwan for the past eleven months. Now his parents and siblings are traveling half way around the world to be by his side as he fights for his life.
Alex is among eight critically injured, Ben Haas said.
One person has died.
The family is raising money to help pay for medical costs.
