LEBANON — Police received a call Sept. 10 from a resident at Beechwood Lane who reported a man had tried to enter their apartment.
Officers responded to the scene and learned the male suspect, identified as 39-year-old Jeffrey Giaimo, of West Lebanon, had left the area driving a blue Volkswagen Jetta.
During this time, Lebanon dispatch received reports of a car that had crashed in the backyard of a home. The driver of the vehicle attempted to push the vehicle back on the road before fleeing the scene, police said. Officer Jeremy Perkins was called to the scene of the crash with his partner K-9 Max.
They tracked Giaimo to the Valley Gardens Apartments where he was found hiding under a blanket in a wooded tree line, police said.
He tried to avoid being arrested but was eventually taken into custody, and he was treated for his injuries.
Giaimo has been charged with driving while intoxicated-second offense and conduct after an accident, both class A misdemeanors. He refused bail and was held at the Grafton County House of Corrections.
Giaimo was arraigned Monday at the Lebanon district court and plead not guilty to the charges. He was released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail.
