NH man arrested after crashing his car and fleeing into Manchester neighborhood
MANCHESTER- Police handed a Manchester man several charges after he fled officers in his car and on foot Wednesday.
Manchester Police officer Derek Cataldo was on patrol in the area of Hudson Street and Knowlton Street about 7:30 p.m. when he saw Hollins Sylvain, 24, of Manchester driving a silver Honda Civic. Police say Cataldo knew that Sylvain had a suspended license, and was a habitual offender. When Cataldo attempted to stop Sylvain he fled at a high rate of speed southerly on Knowlton Street.
Cataldo stopped pursuing Sylvain due to his high rate of speed. He later discovered his car had crashed in a yard at the dead end of Knowlton Street and Sylvain had fled on foot.
Other officers arrived and set up a perimeter in the area. Police were able to locate Sylvain running through the yards in the Somerville Street area.
Sylvain was charged with reckless conduct, criminal mischief, conduct after an accident, disobeying a police officer, resisting arrest, operating after suspension and habitual offender.
