Police say Richard Racette sexually assaulted the girl at his home on Sagamore road in Rye July 22. He allegedly told the teen that if she tried to run away, he would stab her with a knife.

Racette also threatened a nine-year-old girl, telling her he would hurt her if she told anyone about what happened, according to criminal complaints.

"He is currently charged with two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault against a minor,” Prosecuter Annalises Wolf said. “Those charges are alternative theories. He is charged with two counts of criminal threatening and one count of giving alcohol to a minor."

Racette was arrested last week and his probable cause hearing was scheduled for Monday but it was moved to Wednesday morning on the request of an attorney representing him. Racette is being held on $75,000 cash bail.
