NH man accused of smoking meth, knocking on hotel doors
MANCHESTER — Manchester officers responded to a report of a suspicious man knocking on doors at a LaQuinta hotel Thursday evening.
An officer arrived at the hotel around 5:30 p.m. Thursday and an employee gave the officer a description of the man who was wearing a black hoodie and sunglasses indoors. Police found the man on the first floor within minutes.
Police said the man appeared nervous and could not answer why he was at the hotel before "abruptly" stating he was on meth and becoming non-compliant.
The officer attempted to search the man who then jumped back, yelling and covering his waistband, police said.
Police said the officer brought the suspect to the ground while another officer arrived to assist.
The man was identified as Christopher Webber, 19, of no fixed address and during a search, police said they discovered a glass pipe and a gram of methamphetamine.
Police said Webber continued to resist during booking and was eventually charged with possession of a controlled drug, loitering, disorderly conduct, and two counts of resisting arrest.
Webber was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Manchester district court.
