NH man, 7-year-old boy injured in Lake Winnisquam boat crash

The Associated Press

LACONIA (AP) — New Hampshire authorities say several people, including a 7-year-old boy, are recovering after a serious boating crash on Lake Winnisquam.

The crash happened late Friday night in Laconia. State police Marine Patrol officials say a 24-foot powerboat being operated by a 15-year-old boy crashed into a 21-foot boat from behind. Two of the people aboard the smaller boat were able to jump overboard just before the crash, but a 7-year-old boy suffered facial injuries. All four occupants of the smaller boat ended up in the water when the boat later capsized.

The owner of the larger boat was seriously hurt.

Officials urge all boaters to be extra careful at night.
