NH Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves to get adventure trail addition
WOODSTOCK (AP) — The Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves in New Hampshire is expanding to include an "out-of-the-gorge" experience.
The project consists of a new, 750-foot-long forest adventure trail that guides visitors through a covered bridge and into the woods. Visitors are surrounded by woods on the way to the Forest Treehouse, which features life-size animal carvings. Visitors can follow the trail up to a birdcage overlook and cross back over Lost River Gorge on a new, 60-foot-long suspension bridge.
An event dedicating the new expansion, Lost River's first since 1984, is scheduled for Friday at noon.
The gorge and caves in Woodstock is one of New Hampshire's oldest tourist attractions. It celebrated 100 years of preservation in 2012.
