NH is the best in the US when it comes to gonorrhea, chlamydia and other STD rates

New Hampshire had the lowest number of reported cases for chlamydia and gonorrhea in 2015 out of the 50 United States.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released the 2015 national data for three STDs - chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis.

Chlamydia

For every 100,000 residents in NH, there have been 233 reported cases of chlamydia in 2015. This was the lowest reported number of cases out of the 50 states.

Puerto Rico, an unincorporated U.S. territory, had the lowest reported number of cases at 149 per 100,000 residents.

The highest reported cases were in Washington DC with 1,198 reported cases per 100,000 residents.

The total number of chlamydia cases reported in the United States in 2015 was 1,526,658.

"The approximately 1.5 million cases of chlamydia represent the highest number of annual cases of any condition ever reported to CDC," CDC reported.

Gonorrhea

For every 100,000 residents in NH, there have been 19 reported cases of gonorrhea in 2015. This was the lowest reported number of cases out of the 50 states.

Puerto Rico had the lowest reported number of cases at 18 per 100,000 residents.

The highest reported cases were in Washington DC with 416 reported cases per 100,000 residents.

The total number of gonorrhea cases reported in the United States in 2015 was 395,216.

Syphilis

For every 100,000 residents in NH, there have been 3 reported cases of primary and secondary syphilis.

Alaska had the lowest reported number of cases at 1.1 per 100,000 residents.

The highest reported cases were in Louisiana and Puerto Rico with 15 reported cases per 100,000 residents.

The total number of primary and secondary syphilis cases reported in the United States in 2015 was 23,872.
