NH House to take up bills on guns, casino gambling on Wednesday

The Associated Press

CONCORD — Guns and casino gambling are on the docket for Wednesday's House session.

One bill, known as "constitutional carry," would let anyone who can legally own a firearm to carry it concealed without a license, as required by current law. The bill has passed the Senate and is likely to pass the Republican-led House as well. Democratic Gov. Maggie Hassan will then have to decide whether to veto it.

Casinos are also back on tap Wednesday, when House members will decide whether to pass a bill allowing for two. The House has never backed casino gambling. If it passes Wednesday, the long road to Hassan's desk isn't over. The bill would go to the House Finance committee, then come back to the floor — giving opponents added time for lobbying.
