NH health officials close Crystal Lake for unsafe E.coli bacteria levels

MANCHESTER - It's a hot day, but one city lake should not be the scene to beat the heat.

Health officials closed Crystal Lake on Tuesday after finding increased levels of E. coli bacteria were found in a routine test the previous day, reports the Union Leader.

The beach will be reopened after the bacteria drops back to acceptable levels, but that won't be until at least Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

Samples taken from other parts of the lake did not reveal unacceptable levels of bacteria.
