NH Fish and Game to raise fees for hunting, fishing licenses starting in 2016
CONCORD - N.H. Fish and Game officials have announced an increase in fees for hunting and fishing licenses starting January 1, 2016.
A final cost has not been settled, but in a monthly meeting Wednesday, the Fish and Game commission proposed an average of a $10 increase.
Hunting and fishing licenses have remained unchanged since 2003, but operating costs have continued to increase, officials said.
The price increase would impact both residents and nonresidents.
During the 2015 session, the state Legislature granted the department's executive director and commission the authority to set hunting and fishing license fees, which previously had been voted on by the legislature.
The next meeting to discuss and finalize the fee increases will be held Aug. 12.
Meetings are open to the public for input.
