NH Fish and Game to hold public hearing on shellfish harvest closure on Great Bay

DURHAM — The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department will hold a public hearing after receiving a request from The Nature Conservancy to close shellfish harvest on a five-acre area of Great Bay.

The public hearing will take place at the Urban Forestry Center, 45 Elwyn Road, Portsmouth on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The Nature Conservancy will give a presentation explaining why shellfish harvest should be closed at the location where they are currently conducting an oyster reef restoration program. This will be followed by public comments about their request.
