NH Executive Council postpones vote on Mount Sunapee expansion

The Associated Press

CONCORD (AP) — The Executive Council has postponed its vote on a plan to expand the Mount Sunapee ski resort in order to hold a public informational session on the details.

The five-member Council and Gov. Maggie Hassan met Wednesday.

Jeffrey Rose, the state's economic development commissioner, recommended the plan for approval last week. Some groups, such as the Friends of Mount Sunapee and the New Hampshire chapter of the Sierra Club, asked that the vote be delayed, saying the public hasn't had enough time to study it.

The Council's informational session has been scheduled for March 30 at 2 p.m. Rose is expected to attend that meeting.

It's not clear when the Council would vote on the plan after that session. Its next meeting would be April 6.
