NH doctor honored by Bishop for offering free medical care for pregnant women

MANCHESTER (AP) — A New Hampshire doctor has been honored by Bishop Peter Libasci of the Diocese of Manchester for her volunteer work helping pregnant women with free medical screenings and other services.
Dr. Nicole Varasteh has received the inaugural "Vita et Caritas Award," which means "Love and Life."
It was presented in Manchester at the Bishop's Summer Reception for the benefit of the Bishop's Charitable Assistance Fund.
The award recognizes a volunteer who demonstrates exceptional service to a nonprofit organization assisting women, children and families.
Varasteh, an OB-GYN physician, is the volunteer medical director of the CareNet Pregnancy Center of Greater Concord and the CareNet Pregnancy Center of Manchester and Nashua.
