NH could see a resurgent cottontail population this summer

CONCORD — Over the last 50 years, the population of the New England cottontail have disappeared.

Their habitat of thickets and brush have been removed to make room for housing developments and farmland.

Both federal and state authorities are raising the rabbits and will be releasing the bunnies this summer in the areas where the brush has returned.
