NH college scores high in annual rankings of top higher education schools

New Hampshire's Dartmouth College placed high in a recent ranking of colleges and universities across the country.

Dartmouth placed 16th of all the country's ranked schools according to The Times Higher Education college rankings. The group analyzes and evaluates thousands of universities worldwide over several different points.

U.S. college rankings placed Stanford University in California in the top spot and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at No. 2. Another New England college, Yale University, came in at No. 5.

Worldwide, the University of Oxford took the top spot. The California Institute of Technology took second. MIT in Massachusetts came in fifth, and fellow Massachusetts university Harvard took sixth.

Brown University, Williams College, Amherst College, Tufts University, Wellsley College, Smith College, Middlebury College, Bowdoin College, Wesleyan University all scored in the top 50 in the U.S. rankings.
