NH and other New England states rank high on list of safe states
New Hampshire is at the top of the list in financial safety, and ranks high in overall safety according to a popular online financial website.
In an online report posted Tuesday, WalletHub says New Hampshire ranks as the fifth safest state in America and No. 1 for "Financial Safety." Following at No. 2 and 33 were Hawaii and South Dakota.
Granite Staters held second place spot for "Highest Percentage of Adults with Rainy Day Funds" right after No. 1 North Dakota.
The No. 1 state in overall safe state rankings was nearby Vermont. Maine was No. 2 and Massachusetts No. 3.
Vermonters are also at the top of the list for "Personal and Residential Safety." Rhode Island held the No. 1 "Road Safety" spot. Midwestern states of Illinois and Minnesota took the second and third spots.
New England states were no where near the top of the "Workplace Safety" rank as Utah, Virginia and Arizona placed in the top three spots.
Maine was third for "Emergency Preparedness," behind Utah and Nevada.
