NH AG sues to block merger of Anthem and Cigna, joining 11 states
New Hampshire is joining 11 other states, and the federal government in a lawsuit to block the merger of health insurance giants anthem and cigna.
The attorney general says the merger would make it more difficult to create competition in the health insurance marketplace. State officials have in the past been skeptical of the proposed $48 billion merger.
Industry experts say the impact on consumers would take years to materialize and could offer savings in some areas, along with the risk of higher costs elsewhere.
